The VOLUNTEER award was presented to Jessica Mewborn of Greenville. She was recognized for her work as campaign coordinator at South Central High School. Mewborn was a tireless campaign coordinator in addition to her duties as the Driver’s Education Coordinator and Administrative Assistant at the high school.

“She’s wonderfully and enthusiastically creative, with the drive, energy and know-how to engage her colleagues and local businesses into supporting her efforts with the United Way, Dwain Cooper, Director of Community Impact (UWPC) said. “She’s been very instrumental in obtaining gift certificates ranging from food, spa treatments to helicopter rides as incentives for her colleague that support her United Way Campaign.” Mewborn has raised approximately $22,000 from her colleagues over the last three years.

Other volunteers recognized were outgoing board members Michael Cowin, Marybeth Eason, Emily Garner and Bobby Jo Grinder. New board members Terry Atkinson, Tim Cochran, Brett Schemerhorn and Ann Wall were also recognized.
